Back to College

BacktoCollege2

It’s that time again!  Students are busy preparing to return to school, and I’m sure the last thing on their list is the condition of the car they’re taking back with them.  A thorough check-up on the car is recommended before it leaves to ensure safety and reliability.

Some of the most important items that should be checked are:

  • Tires and tire pressure
  • Hoses and belts
  • Air filters
  • Wipers
  • Exterior and interior lighting
  • Fluid levels, including engine oil, power steering, brake, transmission, windshield washer solvent and antifreeze/coolant.

A properly maintained vehicle is safer and more dependable. A preventive maintenance check up before heading out also provides the opportunity to have repairs made at home with your own technician who knows the vehicle and helps reduce the chances of costly and dangerous road trouble.

We also recommend that students have important telephone numbers in their cell phone or glove box in case of a breakdown or emergency. Vehicles should also have a roadside emergency kit that includes items such as flares, a first aid kit, a tire-changing jack (know how to use it), a tire pressure gauge, jumper cables and a blanket.

Douglas Automotive Repair is offering a free vehicle inspection with an oil change to help make sure your college-bound vehicle is ready to roll.  Give us a call today!
